Offering Personalized Care
What is private duty care, that we offer?

Private duty care services are provided when a patient decides to pay for them out of pocket. With private duty care, we still work alongside the healthcare providers to provide optimum services. Under this umbrella, Crossway provides an array of services; both professional and Para-professional. Professional or licensed services include; Skilled Nursing, Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, Speech Therapy as well as Medical Social Workers.

The unlicensed services include; Home Health Aide, Personal Care Attendant, Companionship, Home Makers and more.

When is PDC appropriate?

Private Duty Care (PDC) can assist families in keeping their loved one at home, or supplement care in a facility. PDC can lessen the stress of family members so that they have time to enjoy parent/child or spousal relationship. Family members who live at a distance often feel reassured to know that someone is checking in with and helping their loved one at home. PDC can protect dignity, increase comfort, and help clients maintain their independence.

The PDC staff can administer following services:

  • Take care of laundry and light cleaning
  • Do grocery shopping or pharmacy pickup
  • Prepare a light meal and help with feeding
  • Remind clients about medication
  • Prefill medications
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks
  • Assist with bathing and dressing in the morning or evening
  • Help with toileting, hygiene and grooming
  • Assist with walking and transferring to/from bed or chair
  • Position and provide comfort measures to patients who are in bed
  • Provide nursing treatments
